Group Programs
Our Speech-Language Pathologists are thrilled to offer the following groups!
The Brainy Bunch
This group is for:
neurodivergent children, aged 5-10
This group focuses on:
how our brains work and what neurodivergence means to each of us
advocating for ourselves and practicing social problem-solving skills when applicable in the group setting
building authentic connections with others
understanding the ways we communicate and connect with others
This group will run for:
4 in-person 1-hour appointments, to be scheduled either weekly or every 2nd week, based on timing and availability
The cost of this group is:
$400 per participant for all 4 sessions. Funding for speech therapy can be applied to these groups; please inquire for details.
Small groups of 2-4 children will be formed based on shared interests, age, individual goals and strengths. If 5 or more children would be a good fit for a group together, this would be discussed with parents and a Communication Health Assistant would co-facilitate these groups.
All groups are run by a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist.

neurodivergent preteens, teens, and adults (age 11+) who are seeking community, connection, and a space where their experiences and perspectives are recognized and respected. Groups are formed based on shared interests, age, individual goals and strengths, and shared identities
This group focuses on:
celebrating diverse communication styles, thinking patterns, and expressions of identity
connection through shared interests, mutual respect, and collaboration, creating a space where participants can feel seen, heard and valued exactly as they are
building connection and community through engagement with peers in a supportive, non-judgmental environment
exploring and celebrating unique communication and thinking styles, recognizing individual strengths, diverse communication methods, and reducing pressure to mask or conform
developing confidence and self-advocacy skills, empowering participants to express their needs and preferences to the group
identifying environmental supports and strategies that work for participants, rather than placing the burden of change on the individual
increasing awareness of self and others, enhancing emotional insight and interpersonal understanding within a group setting
experiencing authentic social engagement through collaborative activities centred on shared interests
having opportunities to share ideas, feelings, and thoughts and take on leadership roles based on strengths and interests
This group will run for:
6 in-person weekly 1-hour appointments, with possibility of extension if the group would benefit from more time together
The cost of this group is:
$600 per participant for all 6 sessions. Funding for speech therapy can be applied to these groups; please inquire for details.
Groups of 2-6 participants will be formed based on shared interests, age, individual goals and strengths. If 5 or more participants would be a good fit for a group together, a Communication Health Assistant may co-facilitate these groups with the Speech-Language Pathologist.
All groups are run by a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist.
Say It Your Way: An AAC Group for Users and Supporters
This group is for:
People of all ages who use an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system. All AAC types and systems (e.g., speech-generating devices, communication boards, apps, etc.) are welcome! Those new or beginning to use AAC will get the most out of this group. Supporters of AAC users may include a family member, caregiver, education assistant or support workers who want to learn how to better support communication using AAC. Participants will be thoughtfully matched with others based on age, communication goals, and interests to ensure an engaging and accessible experience for everyone.
Why participate?
Say It Your Way is a fun, interactive AAC group designed for both AAC users and their supporters (i.e. family members, caregivers, education assistants, support workers, etc.). This program focuses on building confidence, connection, and communication skills through hands-on learning and shared experience.
As Speech-Language Pathologists, we often hear from supporters that they feel unsure about AAC due to the lack of training and support. They want to support their user but feel stuck or don’t know how or where to start. This workshop is designed to bridge that gap, providing hands-on examples, practical strategies, and guided practice so that everyone can communicate more effectively and confidently. There is also the option for a follow-up post-workshop session to check in, review strategies and support continued learning
Each session includes guided activities, AAC strategy demonstrations, and opportunities for interactions, sharing opinions, and self-expression. Participants will receive a workbook filled with visuals, key strategies, and take-home practice ideas to continue learning between and after sessions.
This group focuses on:
Understanding what AAC is and why it can help!
Seeing real-life examples and meeting others using AAC (SLPs, friends, family, and peers).
Learning effective AAC strategies to support communication in everyday life.
Building comfort and confidence using AAC across different settings and with a variety of people.
This group will run for:
